BETA WAVES 13 hz – 39 hz

during a busy, active day, busy thinking active concetration, arousal, cognition, paranoia. Beta is identified with active, busy or anxious thinking and active concentration. A healthy beta state allows you to think quickly and improve your focus. But too much time in the beta state can cause anxiety, stress, and paranoia, which can lead to muscle tension, depression, high blood pressure, and insomnia, among other sleep disturbances and health problems. While too much time in beta is obviously not good, a lack of sufficient beta activity can also cause mental or emotional disorders such as depression, ADD and insomnia. In such cases stimulating beta activity can improve emotional stability, energy levels, attentiveness and concentration.

ALPHA WAVES 8 hz – 12 hz

Alpha frequencies (Meditate with eyes open or closed) Develop greater stress resilience and lower anxiety levels Better focus, reading and study Calming of the emotional and physical system such as heart rates Improved creativity and meditation skills. When we begin to relax or begin to get drowsy, but are still awake and conscious, we are at the alpha level. Alpha patterns vary from deep alpha, a state of deep relaxation, (often referred to as the twilight state between sleep and waking) to the higher end of alpha that is a more focused, yet still a very relaxed state. Alpha is a very receptive, absorbent mental state and can be used for effective self-hypnosis, reprogramming the sub conscious, accelerated learning and more. When you spend more time in Alpha state, you find it easier to tap into your higher levels of creativity and expression. Light relaxation,  super learning positive thinking, Conducive to creative problem solving, accelerated learning, mood elevation, stress reduction, etc., relaxed, yet alert. Associated with calm, relaxed, unfocused (not concentrating), lucid mental states, dream sleep & pleasant drifting feelings or emotions; promotes mental resourcefulness, aids in mental coordination, enhances relaxation.

THETA WAVES 4hz – 7hz

Theta frequencies (Meditate with eyes closed) Support to the immune system and healing process. Deeper meditation and enhanced problem solving, Greater insight and creative flow Consolidation of information from short to long term memory. When we are asleep and have dreams, and experience rapid eye movement (REM), and even when we experience deep meditation, we are at the theta level. Theta is a dream like stage, pre-sleep or pre-awaken stage (or deep meditation stage). Theta is associated with a number of beneficial states such as: sustained attention over time, enhanced creativity, boosted immune system, increased long term memory, opening the mind to suggestion and new ideas, advanced problem solving, deep meditation and deep relaxation etc., In the slower theta brainwave pattern, the brain makes lots of relaxing endorphins that melt all your stress away. Access to subconscious images, deep meditation, reduced blood pressure, said to cure addictions; Reset the brain &  sodium potassium levels. Increases sex drive; found inner peace, mystical truths ,transforming, Military remote viewers operate in this range. DELTA WAVES 0,5 hz – 4 hz

Delta frequencies (Meditate with eyes closed). Enhanced meditation and expanded awareness, Physical and emotional healing and regeneration Increased feelings of connection and reduced opposition Cleansing of sub-conscious blockage Delta waves are usually associated with the unconscious and deep, slow brain activity found in deep sleep. At the delta level the body replenishes its energy, releases anti-aging hormones like human growth hormone (HGH*), relieves stress, and boosts the immune system. The delta state rejuvenates your mind, body, and spirit. When your dominant brainwave is delta, your body is healing itself and "resetting" its internal clocks so to speak. When we are in deep, dreamless sleep at the delta level the pituitary is stimulated to produce more HGH which is why we feel refreshed and replensished when we get a good nights sleep. The anti-aging properties of deep meditation come from the release of HGH when reaching the delta level during meditation.

Pink & White Noise

Pink noise or 1/ƒ noise is a signal or process with a frequency spectrum such that the power spectral density (energy or power per Hz) is inversely proportional to the frequency. In pink noise, each octave carries an equal amount of noise power.

Pink noise is similar to white noise, it also contains the wide range frequency signal in the spectrum. It is commonly found in nature environment. Unlike white noise, listening pink noise is more comfortable. The sound is quite similar to ocean. Some people play it in the office for relaxation and concentration.

Pink noise is a variant of white noise. Pink noise is white noise that has been filtered to reduce the volume at each octave. This is done to compensate for the increase in the number of frequencies per octave. Each octave is reduced by 6 decibels, resulting in a noise sound wave that has equal energy at every octave.

Pink noise is signal present on the frequency scale which helps in reducing the background noises. It is called Pink noise because it is placed in between the white and the red noise on the scale of frequency spectrum. Physicists also express this noise as the1/f noise or even flicker noise and is found to have equal force of energy in almost all the octaves. We as humans do not have the power to perceive all the existing frequencies with the same intensity. For us, the frequencies which lie between the ranges of 2 to 4 kHz can be a loud sound. When we hear such loud noise, we cannot interpret the other sound frequencies clearly.

Pink noises have been found to be present in various other systems naturally. According to the astronomers, the electromagnetic radiations from outer space have shown the presence of pink noise in the radiations which are emitted by particular stars. Almost all the electronic equipments and gadgets have been found to generate this noise as it is found in carbon composite resistors. Herein it is known by the name of flicker noise. Even in the biological field, the heart beat or the DNA sequence statistics have been found to produce pink noise.

White noise is the randomly generated noise signal. The signal has equal power in all frequency. Some people suggested that it is good to use white noise for burn-in, because of its fair distribution of each sound frequency, from treble to bass. Aside from headphone burn-in, some people use it to help baby sleep easier.

White noise is a sound that contains every frequency within the range of human hearing (generally from 20 hertz to 20 kHz) in equal amounts. Most people perceive this sound as having more high-frequency content than low, but this is not the case. This perception occurs because each successive octave has twice as many frequencies as the one preceding it. For example, from 100 Hz to 200 Hz, there are one hundred discrete frequencies. In the next octave (from 200 Hz to 400 Hz), there are two hundred frequencies.

The Origin of the Experience of Binaural Beats

We know that the experience of putting a given frequency tone in one ear and a slightly different tone in the other is that of hearing a third tone which is the difference in frequency of the two tones. Thus, putting a 200 Hz tone in one ear and a 210 Hz tone in the other would cause one to perceive a 10 Hz “beat” tone. An auditory brainstem response which originates in the superior olivary nucleus of each hemisphere.  The beat results from the interaction of two afferent auditoxy impulses, originating in opposite ears, below 1000 Hz; and which differ in frequency between one and 30 Hz.” The difference tone is experienced as the two waveforms flow in and out of phase within the superior olivary nuclei. The first reported use of the auditory effects of binaural beats, as detailed by Oster (1973), occurred in 1839. The originator was H. W. Dove, a German researcher.

Today, the binaural beat phenomenon is employed by a number of audiotape manufactures as a way of producing certain relaxed states in the listener. Foster examined, as part of his dissertation study, the degree to which these binaural beats at alpha frequency could result in an increase in alpha. He found that the binaural beats did indeed produce an increase in the occurrence of alpha however, another group which heard artificially produced surf sounds also showed a comparable increase in alpha. These two groups did not differ  ignificantly. Subjects did find that they seemed to be able to increase alpha more by concentrating on the binaural beat.
